THIS IS JUST SAD! American Corporations deceiving it’s customers with an obvious and blatant con job. Why? Warner Bros. Discovery just hired a new CEO for $52 million a year. That’s $1,000,000 per week. There are many more examples of greed but this is widely known. This kind of exorbitant pay is even more than @Miki earns and he really is The Man. :smirking_face:

What’s really galling is that the locals are often available to access for free via an antenna.

Well, for those of us without any decent OTA reception, cable is pretty much the only choice for local “broadcast” TV stations (since LOCAST was bullied off the scene). Unfortunately, It’s not available as a stand alone package and it cant be deleted from a cable channel package. So it mandatory but it’s billed as an add-on (at least by Spectrum).

So good luck and good hunting - sign me up!!!

I am a Louisville resident and have signed on as part of this lawsuit. I totally agree with the premise.

I’m sick of all these cable and streaming companies taking advantage of the consumer with impunity. Nothing but a money grab for the CEO’s to fatten their pockets.

a couple of years ago, Spectrum’s CEO was on TV and when asked what he would do about huge declines in viewership, he blatantly said it didn’t bother him because they would just keep raising the rates of existing customers…so does anybody feel sorry for Spectrum?..I doubt it

FWIW:
“Broadcast fees” are the rates that the local stations negotiated with the cable companies for the right to transmit the content through the cable subs.

This is going to be a semi-oversimplication;
Basically they are passing the fee onto the consumer to pay.
